A few patterns are well documented in this category. Verizon Connect runs 36-month auto-renewing agreements; one reported case describes a 15-vehicle fleet paying around $8,100 to exit 18 months early, and its BBB profile currently shows a failing grade with complaints citing unauthorized fees and invoicing disputes. Samsara's 3-year minimum auto-renews unless cancelled in writing 30+ days out, with the full remaining balance due on early exit, and some customers report renewal quotes running 2–3x their original rate.
These are large, capable platforms, and for the right fleet they may be worth those terms. We just think a smaller fleet shouldn't have to accept a multi-year contract and an undisclosed price to get good tracking software — so we built a company without either.
